November 2, 2021 (Boyds, MD) – After three consecutive wins, the Maryland Bobcats continue well-paced to make a run at  a top-four spot after securing a 1-0 win at home against Chattanooga FC. A midweek match against LA Force once again at home can bring many positive outcomes for Maryland, as they look for their fourth win in a row which would be the first time in club history. As the season comes to an end, the Bobcats look to gain as many points as possible.

LA, unbeaten in six games, come to Maryland looking for three points to secure the second-place position in the fall season. However, a massive win in Michigan against the Michigan Stars 1-2 helped the Force climb back to second place. With Detroit City claiming the NISA Fall Championship, the Force looks to rack up three points after drawing eight games (most in the league) and continue to stifle their opponents (second-best defense behind Detroit City.)

Maryland is the second hottest team in NISA, right behind the league winners, with three consecutive wins. As Maryland continues to recover missing ground, the team knows the commitment to perform well as their first year as professionals comes to an end. The team knows its goal and how to achieve it; to win all remaining games. However, defender Richard Forka knows that the team must play well to win all games. “We know what we have to do, but we also know that we are not satisfied with our gameplay; against Chattanooga, our first half was horrible, but we stepped up and scored, which is something we have to continue to do.  In the defensive line, we were delighted to have our second win with a clean sheet, and moving toward the LA Force game, we know they are not a team to score much, but it is crucial to maintain our goals conceded to null.”

LA Force will come motivated as they recently won away in Michigan, but the scenario will be different; LA gave Maryland its first loss at home like a pro soccer team. Earlier in the Fall season, both teams drew out the game Los Angeles. Regarding their home advantage, Forka states, “We hold that game in our memory, and it hurts, we wanted to give our fans who were with us through the amateur levels a win as a thank you, but a good LA Force team outperformed us.” The team knows how important a win is on Wednesday for the team morale, “A win would make it four consecutive wins, but to us, this is just a game we need to win as the only win our opponents have against us is at our home.”

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 pm ET // 4:00 pm PT. The match can be streamed on Eleven Sports or follow the minute-by-minute action live on Twitter via @MDBobcatsFC.
