January 13, 2021 (Boyds, MD) - The Maryland Bobcats Football Club are happy to announce the signings of Moses Makinda, Sam Solomon, and Christian Schneider for the 2022 National Independent Soccer League (NISA) season.

Born in London, England, Makinde grew up in the Baltimore area, playing his youth soccer for the Baltimore Bays and at McDonogh High School. Having played with the club in between contracts while we were an amatuer team many years ago, Makinde is making his return to the club. The NC State University alum has played all over the world, including with Whitehawk FC in England, VFB Auerbach in the Regionalliga in Germany, Metalul Resita & Sportalul Snagov in Liga II in Romania, Syrianska in Division 1 in Sweden, then came back to the US to play for FC Tulsa and then El Paso Locomotive FC in the USL Championship.

From Ft. Meade, Maryland, Solomon was the 2016 Anne Arundel County Player of the Year while at Meade High School.  During his youth career, he won the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championship with Baltimore Celtic while also being named to the Best XI of the tournament. Solomon attended University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) and played there for 3 seasons before signing his first professional contract with the Richmond Kickers last year in 2021. Solomon impressed immediately at our Invitational Combine, and was a favorite of new Head Coach Sylvain Rastello.

From Shelton CT, Schneider played at Springfield College where he was a two time Conference MVP while also earning All-Region honors. He then signed to play in NISA, first at the Philadelphia Fury, then at 1904 FC last season. Christian was signed after our staff were left impressed during our Invitational Combine and brings flexibility and very technical play to the midfield and back line, and will look to build on his solid end to his NISA season last year.

"These 3 players add immediate talent to our squad, and know all three will compete to start from day 1. Their styles and abilities fit what Coach Rastello is trying to build, and having players that have played at high professional levels in the past or proved themselves in our league before is huge for us," said club Vice President Evan Raimist.

All three signings are still pending league and USSF approval.
