US Soccer Announces Teams Competing in 2022 US Open Cup

Maryland Bobcats FC one of ten NISA clubs to participate in 2022 US Open Cup

January 25, 2022 - Today the National Independent Soccer Association announced the clubs participating in the return of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the oldest ongoing national soccer competition in the United States. Maryland Bobcats FC are one of those clubs while the clubs taking to the pitch this summer include:

  1. ALBION San Diego
  2. Bay Cities FC
  3. Cal United Strikers FC
  4. Chattanooga FC
  5. Flower City Union
  6. Los Angeles Force
  7. Maryland Bobcats FC
  8. Michigan Stars FC
  9. AC Syracuse Pulse
  10. Valley United FC

"The Open Cup is such a great and historic competition, and we plan to give it all the respect and effort it deserves. We want to showcase our players to a bigger audience and show them what kind of talent we have here. We can't wait to see who we play and following along as fans as well," Club Vice President Evan Raimist said.

All NISA sides will enter the 107th edition of the Cup in the second round April 5-7. Match-ups and potential match-ups are expected from U.S. Soccer this week. Round 1 matches start March 22-23.
