Maryland Bobcats FC and Everton FC Co-Hosting Youth Soccer Camp in Leadup to Everton vs. Arsenal FC Match at M&T Bank Stadium

Published May 18, 2022
Maryland Bobcats FC –– Maryland’s professional soccer team –– announces a youth soccer camp the week of July 11–15, co-hosted by Everton FC and Everton International Soccer Schools, to be held at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, MD, home of Maryland Bobcats FC. The camp will serve as a leadup to the July 16 Everton FC vs. Arsenal FC match at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, home of the Baltimore Ravens.

“Being able to experience our Everton Soccer Camp at Maryland Bobcats FC at the same time as the Everton First Team is playing in Baltimore, will certainly add an extra dimension for participants. We hope it will give those taking part a chance to get even closer to our Club, gain an even deeper understanding of our playing philosophy and traditions, and what it means to be an Evertonian and part of our international family,” said Paddy Byrne, Everton International Academy Technical Lead.

The Everton club coaches designed the Soccer Schools, which will give youth players in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region the opportunity to develop their skills while having fun playing the beautiful game. The camp has dedicated sessions for different ages and skill levels, and welcomes players of all abilities. The four camp options are:
  • Junior Toffees Soccer School (for players ages 5–7) (2 sessions each day)
  • Development Soccer School (for players ages 8–14)
  • Advanced Soccer School (for players ages 8–18)
  • Goalkeeper Soccer School (for players ages 8–18)
“To be able to work with Everton FC while they’re here in the DMV for their match against Arsenal FC is great for our club, and an amazing opportunity for the kids in the area,” Maryland Bobcats FC Vice President Evan Raimist said. “We’re thrilled to partner with one of England’s most storied clubs to bring a high-quality camp and training environment to our state. We’re excited to co-host the camp with our Hummel friends at Everton FC, and look forward to showing everyone what a soccer city and state look like when Everton takes on Arsenal FC on Saturday, July 16, the day after the camp concludes.”

“Everton Soccer Schools are designed by our renowned Everton Academy coaches, giving players the opportunity to hone their skills and, most importantly, enjoy the game they love. Soccer is really on the rise in the USA, and we are looking forward to engaging with current and new players as well as fans at Maryland Bobcats FC, building our presence in Maryland as well as our growing presence in the North America,” continued Byrne.

All players who attend the camp will receive an Everton jersey, an Everton gift, and evaluation by the Everton Academy staff. For more information and to register, head to www.marylandbobcatsfc.com/everton-youth-summer-camp.

About Maryland Bobcats FC
The Maryland Bobcats Football Club was founded in 2009. Based in Montgomery County, Maryland, it is a fully minority-owned club and currently the only United States Soccer Federation–sanctioned professional soccer team (men’s or women’s) in the state of Maryland. Maryland Bobcats FC has a “one family” mentality. From the youngest player to the most experienced, from youth teams to First Team, all players support, push, and encourage each other to play the right way. Beyond soccer, Maryland Bobcats FC helps, inspires, gives back, and supports the local community that supports, comes to games, and cheers them on. The club gives players opportunities that they wouldn't get elsewhere––they can play; they just need a place to prove it.
