April 22,2023 (Boyds,MD) - The Bobcats will look to continue their undefeated season against Club De Lyon in their second league game of the season this saturday. The Bobcats are coming off a thrilling 3-2 extra time win against the Ocean City Nor’Easters in the second round of the US Open Cup.

The Bobcats started the season strong by defeating the Flower City Union in the season opener back on April 1st.

Ahead of the match, Coach Alex Kao emphasizes that “the team's primary objective is to protect their home and we expect our guys to come into the game fired up and it is no different than any other team coming into our home”.

The Bobcats currently sit 3rd in the NISA standings as Club De Lyon, a new addition to the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) league, will be looking to secure their first win of the season after losing their first two league games.

Despite a narrow 2-1 defeat to a talented San Antonio FC squad in the US Open Cup, Club De Lyon boasts a talented roster that includes forwards Kevin Javier Hernández and Victor Blanco, who both have scored one goal apiece this season so far. Both players will be key for head coach Daniil Dekhanov this season.

This will be the first ever meeting between the Bobcats and Club De Lyon, who are based in Orlando,Florida. Going into the first ever game against Club De Lyon, The Bobcats will be itching to continue their strong start to the season after not having played a game in over two weeks.

Coach Alex Kao notes that some of the preparation for Saturday includes “Making sure guys are coming back from injury and are training well and getting ready. We will have to entrust more guys given that we have 72 hours in-between matchups. We also want to keep our identity as a team while maintaining peak fitness. The break allowed us to try some new things as a team as we prepare for the upcoming week”.
