Official Club Statement Regarding Events that Occurred on June 17, 2023

BOYDS, MD - It’s come to our attention that two players have been accused of racial and abusive language. The National Independent Soccer Association notified the club that on June 17, 2023, one Maryland Bobcats player spouted a racial slur and one player spouted a  derogatory slur towards the match officials after the away game vs LA Force on 6/17/23. The club launched an internal investigation and confirmed that the report was accurate regarding the racial and derogatory slurs from the accused individuals. 

Upon confirmation, the club released both players from the club with immediate effect. Our organization has a zero tolerance policy towards any form of abusive or racist language from our players and staff. In addition to their release, we will recommend classes and resources to help both players understand the importance of their error in hopes of them learning from their mistake.
