The Maryland Bobcats FC Internships are designed to give the opportunity to start/develop valuable skills and gain firsthand experience in the professional sports industry. During the Internship program(s), participants will be supervised by the Maryland Bobcats FC front office or coaching staff. Applicants working toward an undergraduate degree with an emphasis in sports management, sales, or other related field are preferred but not required.
These positions will require weekly office and/or off-site event hours, attendance at ALL home matches and in some cases, away matches and team training sessions (as needed, depending on the role). All positions are UNPAID unless otherwise noted.

Identify potential Sponsorship opportunities through multiple prospecting resources
Initiate new business from internal leads
Create and present business proposals to potential Corporate Partners
Maintain accurate reporting of Sales activity
Gameday operations (ticket sales, event set up and breakdown, Vendors, etc)
Assist with ticket sales activities and promotional events

Assist the head and assistant coach with pre-game set up of locker rooms and fields.
Assist with the post-game cleanup.
Ensure that the athletes are hydrated.
Maintain a clean, neat, and organized locker room.
Assist coaching staff with small tasks needed on daily basis, such as handling team uniforms, setting up the locker room(s), etc.
Demonstrate good interpersonal skills required to work effectively with players, coaches, and other staff members.
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and working relationships with players and personnel at all times.

Assist with coordination among other departments to ensure that all day of game set-up, giveaways, signage, etc. are met effectively.
Facilitate any visiting team’s needs; oversee all specific requests, working with various departments to facilitate those requests.
Facilitate requests made by front office staff, vendors, League officials and others as needed.
Developing timelines, itineraries, and checklists prior to events.
Coordinate pre-game events on the field in accordance with NISA rules and regulations.
Resolve customer service issues or work with supervisors if unable to do so alone.
Observe complex fields to ensure safety procedures, security procedures and equipment usage procedures are followed.
Update & maintain schedules for staff, complex and field usage
Develop and maintain all proper documentation & files for events

Provide articulate and accurate descriptions on professional soccer matches for the home game crowd.
Operate Scoreboard and time keeping to ensure the game is running on schedule. Additionally, change statistics displayed on the scoreboard to reflect the accurate score of the ongoing game.
• Assist in the operation of the club’s game day broadcast including live play by play social media updates, broadcast production, and on field content creation.
Help with broadcast operation on home game days
Help tag highlights during stream to use in promo materials
Assist in conducting any pregame, mid game, and post-game interviews with players and coaching staff.
Communicate with local and regional media to promote Maryland Bobcats FC and promote coverage of the team.

Work with the Director of Operations to tell a stroy of each gameday through various photos
capture visal photos and possibly videos of players and staff as they enter the complex for gameday.
Brainstorm feature content to promote certain players, stories, and personalities on the team.
Collaborate with other Maryland Bobcats FC promotional staff to create and share ideas for content on the team’s website and the team’s social media platforms.
Collaborate with Maryland Bobcats FC communication and social media staff to utilize captured work in various projects for social media.
Attend practices when available to capture additional content for projects and campaigns.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants working toward an undergraduate degree with an emphasis in marketing, public relations, sports management, or other communications related field are preferred but not required.
Must be able to work independently, have strong problem-solving skills and be detail oriented
Exceptional customer service skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Soccer experience and knowledge about the sport is a plus
[Communications/Social Media Intern ONLY] Must have at least have an iPhone 10, Samsung Galaxy/Note S9 or comparable model.
[Communications/Social Media Intern ONLY] Must have access to a laptop
[Communications/Social Media Intern ONLY] Proficient with Photoshop, Premiere Pro is a plus.
[Communications/Social Media Intern ONLY] Strong understanding of digital and social media platforms.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Requires the ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects and materials (some up to 50 pounds)
